Things you’ll need:
- Good Quality Match Powder
- Bamboo Whisk
- Hot Water (~160 to 170f)
- Syrup or Sweetener of choice
- Milk of choice
- Scale (optional but a total game changer)
- Your favorite cup
Mini Matcha latte recipe:
- 2g of matcha powder
- 20g of hot water
- ~70g of milk
- 5 to 10g of syrup
- tiny pinch of salt
Matcha latte recipe:
- 4g of matcha powder
- 40g of hot water
- ~150g of milk
- ~10 to 15g of syrup
- tiny pinch of salt
- step 1: prep your whisk 🌀 soak your bamboo whisk in hot water for at least 1 minute. this softens the bristles so they’re easier to whisk with + helps prevent breakage.
- step 2: prep your matcha base 🍃 start with a good quality matcha: → bright green color → fine powdery texture → fresh, grassy aroma sift your matcha to remove clumps. slowly pour in your hot water (not boiling!). combine gently, then whisk in a zig-zag or ‘M’ motion for about 1 minute. tip: lift your whisk slightly and whisk just the surface for a micro foam finish—creamy & light.
- step 3: build your latte 💧 pour in your ice, sweetener, and milk. top it off with your fluffy matcha. ✨ depending on my mood, I sometimes add a sweet cream on top
- ** play with the ratios depending on the matcha, syrup, or milk you’re using — each has its own sweetness & flavor profile.
