the perfect sweet treat

The BEST single serve chocolate chip cookie recipe ever!! The cookie is flat, crispy on the edges, chewy in the middle and has that perfect balance of caramel and chocolate notes. This recipe also has no egg and is the perfect little dessert to make whenever you’re craving a sweet treat. It always makes my day being able to have a fresh chocolate chip cookie and hopefully it makes yours as well! I hope you enjoy this recipe as well as so many others hehe 🍪🤎

The Best Single Serve Chocolate chip cookie:
- 2 tbsp (26g) melted butter, cooled slightly
- 2 tbsp (26g) light brown sugar**
- 1 tbsp (13g) white sugar**
- splash of vanilla extract or vanilla paste
- 1 tbsp (15g) of milk
- 1/3 cup (40g) all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 2 to 3 tbsp chocolate wafers or chopped chocolate, adjust ratio to taste
- sprinkle of flaky sea salt
- Combine your (melted and slightly cooled) butter with your light brown sugar and white sugar, whisk together
- Whisk in your vanilla extract/vanilla paste
- Slowly pour in your milk, whisking until the mixture is very homogenous, glossy and shiny
- Separately, whisk together your flour, salt, and baking soda
- Add your dry ingredients into your butter mixture and mix gently until JUST barely combined — over mixing your dough will result in a tough cookie!!
- Fold in your chocolate wafers/chopped chocolate, as much or as little as you like
- Scoop into 2 dough balls (or 1 giant cookie if you want!) and let your dough sit in the fridge for at least ~1 hour to firm up (or overnight) and let the flavors marinate before baking
- Right before baking, break off a few extra chocolate chunks (bittersweet or dark chocolate works best) and press onto the top so you get a nice puddle of chocolate once baked
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350f until golden and set on the edges but still soft in the middle, check your cookie a few minutes early since every oven is different and depending on the size of your cookie (12 to 14 minutes)
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt right when it comes out, it ties all the flavors together so well!
